In creating playful, contemporary decorative objects and jewellery the style of my work is influenced by the shapes which can be found within flowers, with an interest in creating forms from flat materials such as polypropylene and silver. Using the process of folding, I enjoy combining irregular and symmetrical shapes from my source imagery, which are often used in repetition to create a strong, structural aesthetic. Layering the two materials to portray a subtle contrast is a vital part of my practice and is indicative of my style.
I am also interested in displaying my work to its full potential and displacing function. This concerns many of the brooch pins I have produced which come with their own individual stand and added detail. In presenting the pins in this way the aesthetic and ornamental qualities are emphasised particularly when they are not being worn.
I produce a limited range of pieces and one-offs. I accept commissions. Price range - £18-£180
