’Argentum Designs’ jewellery is designed and made by Katie Sansom, who graduated with First Class Honours degree in Multi Media Textiles. Upon graduating she took employment with a locally based jewellery workshop. It was during her time with the company that Katie acquired all of her jewellery making skills and knowledge. Combining this with her design background, she quickly developed a great talent and an immense passion for beautifully styled, hand made and highly finished jewellery.
Upon leaving her employment, Katie started her own business to further develop her passions designing and hand-making her own jewellery pieces, all produced from her home based workshop located in rural Leicestershire.
The inspirations for all the exquisite pieces are influenced by everything surrounding her, whether it be organic natural or man-made objects or architectural structures. All pieces of jewellery are predominantly made in sterling silver, and are frequently combined with 24 carat gold using the Asian fusion technique of ‘Keum Boo’. Katie thoroughly enjoys working in precious metals like silver and gold because of their versatility which is reflected within all the pieces that are lovingly made. ‘Argentum Designs’ ranges include necklets, pendants, bangles, earrings and rings, and prices range from £40 to £250.
