Old and new fabrics, vintage lace and haberdashery combine to create a luxury collection. The unique twist, found metal objects such as washers, springs and nuts are intricately sewn into the work. The craftsmanship and love given to each brooch results in a truly beautiful piece of wearable textile art. Alex also creates original mixed media artwork inspired by places visited and the desire to record a special memory. The unique technique involves layering paint, ink, pastel and adding texture with textile mediums, fabrics and embroidery. The finished result is an intriguing, highly original style of work combined with a fresh, light colour palette.
