Antonia Winsor

n my practice I look for inspiration in the rich multiplicity of natural forms which are everywhere to be seen; I look at the commonplace, but from a fresh angle; I listen for, and often sense, new rhythms within the life around me, and most profitably, I allow time for silence, and for contemplation; at such times, Heaven seems fleetingly to touch the Earth.

Music — its emotion and spirituality undeniably influence and resonate in my thoughts and practice. Michael Ondaatje wrote: 'We enter art to hide within it.' This is a profound concept for Art can be an inner sanctuary, a quiet communion with another's thoughts and feelings, in a different (though not necessarily safe) place.
