Having been fascinated with colour from an early age, I now design and make a range of felt bags, accessories, gifts, cards and homewares. I love the direct connection I have with the process as I combine wool fibres, water and soap to produce beautiful, individual and tactile pieces. I often incorporate other fibres such as silk into the surface or hand-sew beads to the finished piece, further adding to its character.
I am continually inspired by flowers and the changing colours of the seasons – particularly the vibrant or more subtle pastel shades of spring and summer, the warm autumn tints and glowing red berries in winter. My other source of inspiration is the sea – the coolness, fluidity and ever changing hues. Sometimes cheerful polka dots or simple daisies find their way into my designs too.
I am currently enlarging the range of designs in my homeware and gift items, and also developing a range of flower corsages and brooches.
Prices start at £3.50 and go up to £120 for a wallhanging.
I am also happy to accept commissions.
