My work falls into the genre of contemporary, process based painting. I hold a 1st Class Hons Degree in Fine Art and currently work as a part-time Artist at my Studio in Leicester.
Utilising a defined system, the paintings and their geometric facades are structured architecturally. The works bridge the boundary between sculpture and painting. Gloss paint is modelled and sculpted into tubular rolls. The work reflects on colour, art history, music and in particular rhythm.
Contemporary monochromatic and duotone surfaces highlight the layers of gloss paint and its reflectivity. The paintings pay homage to materiality, plasticity and the main ingredient involved in the process, paint.
I accept commissions and the price range of my work varies depending on size, paint and material i.e. metal, wood and perspex. As a guide paintings of 1m x 1m are sold at £250.
